Santa Claus rally for 2012?

The markets have been treading water after dipping slightly from their recent five year highs. Good news is seemingly being ignored - better GDP numbers than expected, better housing numbers, decent labour numbers, a deal for Greece. The fiscal cliff (automatic spending cuts and tax increases in the U.S) seems to be putting a damper on the market. With the Fed in the U.S pursuing their zero interest rate policy since 2008 and bonds yielding close to nothing, many U.S. companies have been quietly raising their dividends.  With interest rates at historic lows, stocks could become popular once again.
