What's in your bucket list?
The term "bucket list" became far more popular when the movie of the same name came out in 2007. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bucket_list/
We are not talking about things you want to do before we "kick the bucket" but about a new investment term that is becoming more common.
Recently I've heard the term "bucket” used by at least one fund company and also by one of my clients to describe his investment allocation into various types of investments types. i.e. "$5,000 into this or that investment bucket." Although not a bucket list per se (but maybe it should be!), certainly the use of "buckets" to describe the concept of asset allocation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset_allocation is all right by me. Anything to reduce the amount of unnecessary jargon.
